Opening of the Beaches Event - June 2026

Under the big tent on the beach, the planning team spoke with visitors about transportation, housing, development, and rural preservation in Nassau County, while sharing updates on the Comprehensive Plan and adopted 2050 Vision Plan. Beach-themed prizes were offered to participants who knew key facts about Nassau County — and to those who gave it their best guess. Nearby, children could imagine and draw their favorite community features with markers and crayons at the imagination station.

4th of July Event - July 2026

Nassau County's planning team spent July 4 engaging with the community during Callahan's "America 250" Fireworks Celebration. Activities and holiday-themed prizes were available for all ages, including a trivia Plinko board featuring fun questions about economic development, recreation, and other topics in Nassau County; boards where residents could share ideas for their ideal community; and interactive displays with maps and information about Nassau's vision for the future. The team enjoyed thoughtful conversations with residents about the Nassau County 2050 Comprehensive Plan update while taking in live music and an unforgettable fireworks show.
